Last night was our final Childbrith class... it's all becoming so real now.  We were given a tour of the Labor & Delivery floor and saw the actual rooms we'll be in for labor and post-partum.  I have a better idea now what I will want with me.  A friend suggested body mists and lotions to help the room smell better... and chocolates for me, for comfort.  Sounds good.  I wouldn't be surprised if she put together a little basket for my shower on Sunday.  I think I'll also bring a little album with all the ultrasound photos and little notes like "I need you to be strong, mommy!" and "we're in this together!"  If I can focus on what the baby is going through, instead of my own labor pain, I can probably withstand a lot more.  Since I've never given birth, though, it's all speculation at this point.

It will be interseting to find out what the hospital serves for it's 3 meals a day.  I've never stayed at the hospital... not even on an out-patient basis... just visited others.  But, the $100 daily co-pay will make me want to go home ASAP.  I know that's ridiculously low for a hospital stay when the actual cost to them is more like $10,000 per day... but instead of comparing those figures, I just see it as staying at a nice hotel that takes care of me.  So, $100 is a great deal when it includes 3 daily meals.  I'll probably need more time there than I thought after it's all over.

Good luck.
With the classes you will do fine.

Wow! What a lot of things you went through in the childbirth classes. We didn't have childbirth classes when it was my turn. I read a lot and talked to people, and the doctor explained a lot. And I found by experience that each time it was different! (four for me) Hope it's the most wonderful experience for you. When you hold that little one, you'll be so thrilled!
