I downloaded your program today, and I can't believe it!!! It's to Photo Albums what Power Point is to Presentations. Using the defaults, I was able to immediately create a great looking, fully functional album, which I uploaded to my web site. Exploring the menus, I found lots of useful tweaks, which I was able to use without even needing to check the help file or any other help. This is absolutely excellent, and the price is certainly right! Thanks a whole bunch.

I was surprised that there is so little talk about such a nifty program. I was tired of using adobe PS web photo gallery maker. I tried a few other album maker, both sharewares and free ones. Found them too rigid, and mostly they were OS dependent. But, then I came across this JAlbum, it has all those features that I had in my never-mentioned wish list. Very flexible (you can easily write your own design with the help of the componets provided, but if you don't want to, then there are many out-of-the-box free skins to apply and ppl are having a good time writing up new interesting skins and sharing them in the community, which you can pick or tweak a little bit to your taste), runs on java - so it does not matter if i am working on xp or Psyche(rh8) (a little slow because of that, but i'll let it get away with 5 mins for 100 photos if i don't have to supervise when it is building my album) and FREE.

The best by far of the close to 30 programs I've tried!!! I have found a couple that I was fairly happy with, but nothing close to this--when it starts taking my pictures for me I might have to get a job! I effortlessly created attractive and flawlessly functioning albums of OVER 2000 pictures in countless nested directories--MY FIRST DAY! After a week of using the program (3 sessions), I have since processed 2000 or so more, and reorganized my folders (which meant I had to reprocess multiple directories--I was afraid I would have a mess of broken links and misplaced/incorrectly over-written files/directories) as well as creating 2 new skins!!!! ALL tasks were performed with little effort on my part and PERFECT recursive REWRITING of the albums--quickly. This guy put some time and thought into this program!

I've never used a more amazing program. I have the Linux version, and it runs prefect. My gallery was up in seconds, the only thing that took time was deciding on which skin to use! Wonderful.

Easy, fast photo webpage generator. I simply want an easy to use photo webpage generator that I could put my photo's on and let family and friends look at them. Nothing too fancy, no nagware notices on pictures - and this fits the bill perfectly. It creates the web pages, makes the images smaller, thumbnails them, creates navigation through them, lets me configure the page style, and then ftp's them to my site. After looking through some example pages (on the tutorial site) I picked a template, selected my source images and I had a website complete with photo's in 30 minutes. Easy Peasy - Great software.

Way easy! A Must for Digital Camera users! Best software for photo gallery users. I've spent over 100 hours developing (Manually) the same thing. I was able to change the template files and had redone my photo gallery in 15 minutes. Took all my pix and made the Thumbnail, HTML Slide for each Pix, HTML index and linked everything. AWESOME! Saved me numerous hours down the road with Holiday pictures.

Thats the gallery-tool I searched. Its very easy to use, but very flexible and powerful. It's got a natural way of dealing with subdirectorys, it's got options to simply configure the existing skins and you even got the possibilities to create your own skins in a very easy and powerful way. It's in java, so I can use it on Windows and Linux, its free, and: it is MUCH better than ALL other tools I found. There is just one thing that could be better: it's not open source, but the api is documented and usable. Thanks for this wonderful tool.

I'm extremely happy with the web galleries this program produces. The templates and style sheets are not too difficult to tweak if you are at all familiar w/HTML code--I've modified them to exclude file names. Of course, it would be even better if more configuration options were available in the GUI. It is a bit slow to load--I guess this is Java--but has been stable, except when processing very large albums. Gets updated all the time, it seems. The main site has sample galleries you can browse to see what the various styles look like.

This is one of those "simple yet powerful" pieces of software. You can pump out a standard gallery within 10 seconds of installing the program. Piece of cake -- plus it has dozens of different page styles built in. Automatically creates html pages, thumbnails, and full display images from your originals and saves them neatly in a folder you specify. Does camera EXIF info as well! If you put a some work into it, (with some html and stylesheets) you can really put together some fantastic sites. TOTALLY customizable. You can do just about anything via the CSS files and HTML templates. Support, samples, and just about the entire JAlbum website is very helpful as well. Check it out, it's worth a try!

JAlbum is exctly what I have been looking for! On my school website we keep many photo albums, so that prospective parents and students can see all the activities which take place. The front page of the site changes weekly, with new links to new albums.
I have been looking for software which will make my life easier (as webmaster) and also be intuitive enough so that other teachers who aren't so highly skilled can create their own albums for the school site. JAlbum is the answer!!

Just want to tell you that JAlbum simply *rocks*! I think I have tried them *all* and I almost was ready to live with a inferior one, when I detected that all it supported was IE. Noooo...

I think JAlbum is fantastic, and I can't believe its for free, WOW. I had it with the commercial photo hosting sites that would start out free, and then charge for the service later on. I have a broadband connection and decided that I would try to set up a photo server for friends and family to visit, and download the images they wanted. I tried a couple of script based photo servers, IDS and Gallery, but couldn't get either of them working after a couple of weeks of steady effort. I found your program on Webattack, and gave it a try. Within a few hours I had over 400 photos in 7 albums up on the web using IIS. You are to be highly commended for an outstanding program, great job.

"Excellent Windows equivalent to cthumb!"
I had tinkered a little with cthumb (a linux app that also generates thumbnails and web albums) but wanted something I could use on my Windows XP laptop. I've only used it for a few days, but love it! It's very easy to use and takes just a little experimentation to get a nice web album. It's exactly what I've been looking for, and it's freeware! Can't wait to create my online albums to share pics with my friends.

I've spent numerous hours creating Thumbnails, 800x600 Images and HTML pages for my family photo album. Best guess about 100 hours. I took the entire Image Folder and compiled all the same in 15 minutes. From 480 files/185mb of Pix to 2,377 Files/60mb with all the thumbnails, html, index, etc. Just AWESOME! Highly recommend to anyone with a web page and digital camera. I'm sending something to the developer even! I liked it that much.

The best software in photo album creation I have come across. There are so many options which are convenient..and the best thing is that it has a recursive search which works really well if u have a big album. If u are looking to put your snaps on the album, this is the one you have to use..and moreover, it is free! way to go author!

I've been looking for a way to generate photo albums on a personal site for awhile. As far as shareware/freeware photo album packages, this is simply the best! Simple to use for the non-programmer, yet endlessly customizable for those who choose to. I was able to add a gallery section to an existing site seamlessly and customize the look and feel to match the existing website! thanks for a great piece of software!

"flexible and wonderful - not just for fun sites"
It has lots of preset templates for quick and easy albums and importantly all of them can be completely customised using html plus scripting. I've used jalbum to create a commercial website - converting a set of portfolio photos into a flash site. Updates are now automatic, drop a few new photos into a folder structure, add a few text files, and push a button. Wonderful. The forums on the author's website are a great source of support too, and the speed and quality of advice is much better than for most paid for programs.

It's done all automatically and I don't have to do anything except press the upload button. Thanks! Now my family can see the pictures. I've just started using JAlbum (after trying a multitude of other album-type programs) and want to thank you for a great piece of software. I especially like that it's written in Java and is OS-independent. I'm transitioning from MS to Linux on my desktop and it's great to have JAlbum run on both.

That's the sort of application I love to use. I _love_ the ability to easily customize the output format and I also love the example skins you provide. They are a great starting point. Last not least the SlideShow mode is great too. Thanks for one of the best freeware programs I came across. I haven't looked at too many "Album generators", but yours is both truly versatile _and_ easy to use :-)

Just throw some pics in a folder and drag the folder onto the program and it does all the rest! And you can create your own skins and share them too. The best!!

I have been looking on the web for quite a while for a gallery generator. Your JAlbum is the best I've seen. The html output looks great, something that most generators fail to create. Most aim to have many functions to customise the output but the end-effect is shody. The user interface is easy-to-use and well-built.
