2. How to Homeschool with a Toddler
It´s one of the most common questions among new homeschoolers: "How do I keep my toddler occupied while I teach my older kids?"

Fortunately, we can rely on the knowledge of those who´ve gone before us. Check out what Linda Coyle has to say about keeping toddlers occupied during homeschool.

3. Book for Homeschooling Newbies
If you´re totally new to homeschooling and would like to learn about homeschooling in a logical and sequential order, I´d suggest the Complete Idiot´s Guide to Homeschooling. This book (or one like it) can be a big help since it takes all the fundamentals and puts them in a single place.

4. How to Be Frugal

5. Can I homeschool my preschooler?
Certainly, you can. Homeschooling your preschooler is a very easy thing to do, especially since you´re teaching him or her so much already. Here are some ideas for you:

1. Check out books at the library to read to your preschooler.

2. Teach your preschooler about science by letting him or her help with gardening.

3. Teach your preschooler about math by letting him or her count how many plates, forks, and spoons you need to set the table.

4. Purchase a package of books designed for you to homeschool your preschooler.

The best thing about homeschooling your preschooler is how low risk it is. If you decide homeschooling isn´t for you, then no big deal. Just enroll your preschooler in kindergarten the following year.

But if you find out that homeschooling is for you, then you will have discovered that at the best possible time—while your child is still young!

8. Gaps in Your Child´s Education
Many traditional schools--and at least one popular homeschool curriculum provider--boast that their curricula have "no gaps." They imply that the students who use their curricula will acquire "complete" educations, as it were, with no missing pieces.

I find this claim puzzling because I wonder how any child can be taught "everything" there is to know by the youthful age of 17 or 18.

Furthermore, having consulted several standard scope-and-sequences, I´ve discovered that no two curricula completely agree when it comes to "what children ought to know." Even those curricula that claim to have "no gaps" have differences between them!

It´s my belief that instilling a love for learning in your children is the most important thing you can possibly do. That way, your children will continue learning--because they want to continue learning--even after they´ve completed their formal educations.

Far better to lack a few facts and love to learn than to have all the "right" information and hate the learning process!
