It never hurts to go through things with other people. When you have a support system, no matter what situation you are going through, it usually makes your situation more bearable. These people are usually those who are in the same situation as you, or they have been through the same or similar situation. They often render themselves available to speak, 'chat', or 'discuss' with you, whether by phone, face-to-face, or over the internet.

We all need people in our lives who will encourage us. We need people who are willing to root for us as we proceed toward the light we hear is at the end of the tunnel we find ourselves.

Pregnancy is no different. Even if you are married, your boyfriend is sticking around, or your family is there for you, there's nothing like having someone to talk to who is feeling what you are feeling right when you are feeling it. There's no one who understands the constant mood swings like another pregnant woman. Knowing that other women share the same symptoms is somewhat reassuring.

There are several on-line forums where pregnant women discuss things related to their pregnancies that they choose to chat about with other women. The interesting thing is that in most cases, these women may not know each other or ever meet each other. The comfort they feel from just getting the feelings out of them and letting their emotions just come out on the screen seems to soothe many. The commonality is a driving force, something that makes them more or less, one and the same through their 280 days of pregnancy (an estimated number). Some women enjoy this form of communication so much that they join multiple chats, discussion boards, and forums.
