Forum Post: "Side effects from meds?...Could it be?" arleyk posted: "Has anyone had any of the side effects listed on the patient information sheet? My 16 year old daughter was put on protonix and zantac for acid reflux disease with the hope that it would also help her asthma. She lost 15 lbs, couldn't eat without pain, asthma got worse, nosebleeds that required ER, menstrual problems, and sinusitis which is being treated with antibiotic. I have stopped the meds and she is starting to feel better. I really would like to hear if anyone has ever had these symptoms from taking acid reducing meds. When I questioned the doctor, they got very condescending and said all drugs have side effects...take TUMS then! How's that for help?"
